About the festival
An educational trust advancing the education of the public in the arts of music, speech and drama in all their branches.
Our objective
The object of the festival is to advance the education of the public in the arts, and in particular the arts of music, speech and drama in all their branches.
The festival is an educational trust, as started by the Harrogate Town Council as it then was, aiming to improve and enhance the performing skills of musical, singing, and speech and drama students. A wide variety of classes is held, encompassing solo performers, duets and groups both large and small.

The festival is run by volunteers as a charity. None of the volunteers, committee members or trustees receive any remuneration, and all income goes towards mounting the next annual festival.

Affiliation
Our festival is affiliated to the British and International Federation of Festivals for Music, Dance and Speech, which has spent over 100 years helping create performance opportunities and guiding performers towards professional execution of their disciplines.
